It has been a while since my last post, and I’m happy to say that it’s for good reason.  The original Hippo Noto Kickstarter is finally coming to completion.  We have been shipping daily and are happy to say that very soon we will have news of every Hippo from the original project winging its way home ^_^.  More about that to come, and of course the giveaway at the bottom!

So let’s get to it.  I was very lucky and a friend who went to Scriptus was able to snag me two of the show exclusive inks, one for me and one for you!  KWZ Northern Twilight.  When I first got into FPs I remember the search for this elusive ink, and am very happy to be able to give one away here.

It comes in the classic KWZ packaging with the special Scriptus 2018 label at the top.  This ink had the distinct KWZ vanilla type smell, it hit me a bit more than it usually does but there is always variation in that for me.

I tried it out in my Pelikan M205 Amethyst.

For the actual review I decided to use the Hippo Noto 52GSM prototype featured in the main photo.

Ink shots!

Tried a few different lighting, but I could see the sheen in every photo.  This ink even sheens in regular writing.  I wouldn’t call it a super sheener, and it doesn’t feel as sticky as a super sheener, but the ink has a bit of the dry characteristic that many sheening inks have.  It is a beautiful super dark denim color with a red sheen.  Perfectly saturated and legible enough for just about anything.

If this seems short it is because I am getting right back to #hipposhippo after I post this awesome giveaway.  After that is done I will definitely have a lot more time to play with ink ❤
