This is an open call for currently inked suggestions ^_^. I recently got a cute little book made by a company called Inky Fingers. I attempted to start a currently inked list, but like the entries in my hobonichi, I just seem to lack the discipline. How do you all keep your inked pens organized?
The actual execution is about as bad as this photo lol. The paper is good, shows a lot of shading but no sheen. There is very minimal bleed when using regular amounts of ink. It is a nice pocket notebook, but I found myself having a hard time remembering to write down what I inked. Perhaps I should just ink less pens?
I have one of these cute little notebooks to give away along with some unclaimed prizes!
For whatever reason these prizes went unclaimed so I am rolling them both in with this notebook for a larger than usual giveaway!
Prize:
1x Inky Fingers Notebook
1x Smoky Quartz Ink Bottle
1x Lamy Pacific Blue Al-Star
Open to the USA
Deadline: 4/14/17
How to win:
- Comment here about how you keep your ink pens organized! (2 Entries)

- As always any and all subs are worth an entry just let me know ^_^. (1 Entry Each)

My currently used pens usually sit happily on my desk or in my Aston pen sleeve. Otherwise they go into the pen cup where they can be loved later.
Subbed! 🙂 Thanks for the giveaway as usual!

Generally, I can remember what’s in what pen, but I am starting to forget. I used to dedicate a page in my bullet journal every month to keep track, but it gets unwieldy. So I started a spreadsheet to manage this. Still working on making it look pretty, things are pretty manual right now…

I have all my pens in a fancy little audio speaker/cup on my desk. I keep them upright so they don’t get clogged if they are inked. I never turn the speaker on when the pens are in there though, I don’t want them vibrating and burping all over the place.

I’m a horrible pen owner, let’s just start there. My uninked pens are stored safely in a Monteverde velvet-lined, zippered case. The pens with ink in them are… left to sit on one side of my desk within reach. I mentioned in the FB post that I used to keep a detailed list but the frequent switching made it impossible to keep track of so now I just write a line to check the color and guess the rest. I do have a notebook with every ink I own written down and sometimes I check there first if I can’t guess it. Still, a horrible pen parent.
Of course I’m subscribed here and commented on FB. I ❤ this blog!

As I posted on Facebook, I don’t keep a list of what’s currently inked (due to only having 3 pens…but 2 more are on the way, so that may change!). However, I do I have test pages on the different kinds of paper/notebooks I use. I’ll write the name of the ink, which pen it is, and do a smudge test. As I’m getting more pens and ink, I’ll need to start figuring out better orgainization systems for it all!

I’ve realized I now have more ink than I can keep track of as I’ll forget what I have currently inked. Maybe this is the ticket to no longer forgetting!

I used to keep a list with pen and ink noted in a pocket notebook, but I more keep them in a larger Rhodia notebook with the date I filled them. Flip the book upside down so that the back is the front and here I keep color swatches of all my inks. So far I’ve only done purple inks. If I were more organized, I’d write the date I bought the ink. I keep my inked poems in cases in a tote next to me on the sofa. I have a paycheck container that I rigged up with a clip so I can take some pens wroth me when I’m on the porch swing. I just clip it to the back of the swing.

I store my pens uninked to partially inked. I used just a few inks and they are always healthy inks for pens which can be cleaned out easily. They are kept in cigar boxes, cases and a wooden display case for pens.

I made a spreadsheet of all my pens, including a photo, nib size, brand name and model name, cost and where I bought it and a place where I can put current ink. I just need to remember to fill that column out, lol.

I generally buy demonstrator or window pens so I can keep things easy to identify. That and I usually only keep one ink of a given color range at a time (One blue/black, one blue, one black, etc.) Other than that, I’m lazy with cleaning up nib creep so that’s my last method of identification right before pen hits paper.
Also, subscribed!

I generally keep all inked pens in a cup and choose which pens to carry with me every morning. I do not keep a currently inked list, but I do tend to fill pens with similarly coloured inks each time.

Subbed, and excited to read more.
Especially happy to receive my Hippo Noto, congrats on all the success with the Kickstarter.

When I started getting fountain pens I used a Clairfontaine A4 notebook to record pens purchased and basic information about them. When I refilled a pen I added that info to its page. I have now started a second notebook, so it gets tedious looking for where a pen is listed to add a new ink filling or to check basic info. I have started using an “inkjournal” to keep track each time I fill a pen.

I write down what ink I put in a pen as the first thing I write after inking.. first in a pocket notebook and second in a word card along with some different kinds of marks. I like to see how the inks change with the different nibs.

I have no more than 12 pens inked at a time, plus whatever my wife is borrowing. Ten of them go in a 10-slot cigar box style pen box at home, one in a Franklin Christoph 1-pen sleeve in my pocket, and one in a Manhattan Portage case with a few assorted non-fountain pens and pencils. The uninked pens normally sit in a couple of Nock cases, a Brasstown and a Sinclair, unless I’m using the Sinclair to lend a few pens to a friend.

Organized? You’re supposed to keep your inked pens organized? I KNEW I was doing SOMEthing wrong… 😀
Seriously, though, I write down what ink is in what pen (with that pen/ink, of course) in the back of my current notebook. (It’s kind of a bullet journal, but more of an Everything Book.) That way, if I really like it, I can recreate the combo, in theory. In practice, I forget to look at it most of the time when I’m inking. 😀
