Happy Valentines Day! I thought it was fitting to start today off with the review of a red ink <3.
This color appeared to be sold out everywhere so when I found some I jumped for joy and bought two bottles, one for me and one to give as a special Valentine to one of you ^_^. How perfect that the bottle features the creator of Romeo and Juliet himself!
The bottle isn’t the traditional limited edition bottle, but a more rounded one which increases the capacity to 35ML rather than 30ML.
I am not sure I am completely in love with the bottle, but the ink is what counts right? For this review I decided to ink up my GW Pens Alpha Custom Hippo, its one of my favorite writers and on a day that we celebrate love, there is no better pen.
Line going down on 68GSM Tomoe:

Ink Blob:
I found the ink blob this ink created particularly interesting! The color is called Velvet Red and the blob produced a sort of velvety finish. This ink leans toward brown a lot, and is not a red that will hurt your eyes. The flow, saturation, and shading are all great as with most MB inks. Unfortunately the red velvet cake finish didn’t appear during regular writing, but I’m glad its there! Totally another winner from MB.
Now for the fun part, the giveaway!
Prize: 1x Montblanc William Shakespeare Velvet Red Ink

My now wife, girlfriend at the time, had never been to Disney world. I worked out with the staff to help me surprise her with a proposal. I called everyday for 4 months to get a reservation at Cinderella’s restaurant in the Castle. We got the window table overlooking all of the Magic Kingdom. So we have dinner, at one point I excused myself to “go to the bathroom” and gave our server the ring. They have the fairy Godmother came out after a song and said they had a very special announcement. The waiters came out and they had a glass slipper on a dinner plate with the ring inside and “will you marry me?” written in chocolate on the plate. Needless to say she said yes, and that was 7 years ago… wow time flies.

I once got my wife a label maker as a gift. It didn’t go over well.

I haven’t any Valentine Day surprises that I can remember? I would write a letter in this ink, if I had it.#mykindofred

Most romantic thing I’ve done is place an engraved lock at the Pont des Arts in Paris a few years ago while I was traveling through Europe. That was a couple years before they were taken down and replaced with the graffity pannels. Still have the key with an Eiffel Tower keychain as a reminder.

I have started writing love letters and notes more to my wife now since I got into fountain pens. I started a little journal thy we can write to each other in often write little notes asking her to pray for me for certain things. and she responds. Even though we talk to each other some things are just easier to write out.

I don’t think I’ve ever really done…anything lol. I’m only 17, so it’s still excusable right? π In all seriousness, as a kid I used to love writing little notes or making cards for family.

Every time i see my fiancΓ© I leave her a little note with a sketch of some kind. My favorite thing to do is hide them in weird places like egg cartons, cereal boxes, pillow cases haha.

My wife and I are super romantic for Valentine’s Day. We always go to IHOP that night. It started when we were broke grad students, and we’ve never stopped.

Every morning I get up, make my husband breakfast, prepare his lunch. Before I close the top of the lunch box, I wrote a note which always starts with “I love you.” He gets upset when I don’t put one in (which doesn’t happen very Often). Not sure of this anyone else’s idea of romance bit it’s certainly a gesture of love.

My long-distance partner and I don’t have much in common in our music tastes, but I sing and he plays guitar, so we agreed on a song and learned it while we were apart and get to play it together when we do see each other. Getting to make music with him makes me just about the happiest person in the world.
